Emma Fitzsimmons
Hello, I'm Emma.
I'm a Paralegal in BWB's Ipswich office, where I enjoy supporting both our clients and solicitors through every stage of the family law process.
I have worked in the legal industry for six years, gaining experience as a Legal Secretary, Law Clerk and now Paralegal. Throughout my career, I have worked across a range of practice areas including class actions, commercial law, insurance law, employment law, domestic violence law and tenancy law. Originally from Melbourne, I relocated to Queensland three years ago and have continued to build my legal career here.
Family law has always been the area I have felt most passionate about. From my first year of law school, I volunteered in the courts, assisting with drafting documents and supporting clients through the court process. Those experiences confirmed my desire to work alongside people during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
Many of the clients I work with are navigating emotionally challenging circumstances, whether that be separation, parenting disputes or domestic violence. Being able to guide people through these experiences, provide reassurance and practical support, and help them move towards positive outcomes is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. I understand that family law matters are deeply personal, which is why I take pride in ensuring every client feels heard, informed and supported throughout their journey.
Clients often describe my approach as compassionate, practical and organised. I am committed to managing matters efficiently while working closely with our solicitors to provide a positive experience for every client. Knowing I have made a genuine difference in someone's life is what motivates me each day and is the reason I am so passionate about family law.
