Chloe Hodgson
Hello, I’m Chloe.
I am a Law Clerk in Best Wilson Buckley’s Toowoomba team.
I commenced my legal career in 2021, working in commercial, property and employment law for a boutique firm in Brisbane. While I enjoyed gaining experience across these areas, I had always held an interest in family law, and when the opportunity arose in 2022, I knew it was the direction I wanted to pursue. Since then, I have exclusively worked in the family law and domestic violence space.
I am originally from a small town in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. In 2021, I moved to Brisbane to undertake my university studies before relocating to Toowoomba in 2024, which I am now lucky to call home. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland and am due to graduate in 2027. Outside of law, I have also taken a slightly different path, having completed a Certificate III in Aviation (Cabin Crew) in 2019 with aspirations of becoming a flight attendant.
Family law stood out to me because behind every matter is a real person who is often experiencing one of the most difficult periods of their life. I find it incredibly rewarding to support people through that process and help them move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Working as a Law Clerk has reinforced the importance of not only understanding the law, but communicating it in a way that helps clients feel informed, supported and reassured.
I believe trust, transparency and empathy are essential to providing meaningful support to clients. Every person’s circumstances are different, and taking the time to understand what matters most to each client is central to my approach. While family law can be emotionally challenging, I see it as an area where professionalism, compassion and practical thinking come together.
When I was looking for the next step in my career, I wanted to join a firm where I could continue learning while being surrounded by people who are genuinely passionate about family law. Best Wilson Buckley’s collaborative approach and commitment to minimising conflict while prioritising clients’ needs strongly aligned with the type of lawyer I aspire to become.
The clients I have assisted have described me as approachable, compassionate and dependable. It is important to me that every person I work with feels comfortable asking questions, knows they will be treated with respect and feels supported throughout their matter. While I cannot always remove the stress that comes with family law, I want every client to know they have someone in their corner who is committed to supporting them and working towards the best possible outcome for their individual circumstances.
